Thermobreak

Manufacturing

Thermobreak is a subsidiary of Sekisui Chemical, a Japanese plastics manufacturer with head offices in Osaka, Tokyo and a presence in 17 other countries. Thermobreak is a pioneering leader in their sector, and they approached us to help refresh and refine their international brand.

What we did:

Thermobreak is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of physically cross-linked, closed-cell polyolefin foam insulation used in commercial HVAC, building and railway transport industries for its superior thermal and acoustic performance, zero-fibre content and moisture resistance.

Continual innovation, since their trailblazing breakthrough in 1967, has maintained their leading position and the same progress was necessary for our brand to help keep their image and reputation consistently ahead of competitors. To address this challenge, we undertook a comprehensive brand revitalisation to reposition Thermobreak as the clear category leader, enhancing brand equity, strengthening market presence, and justifying a premium pricing strategy.

We developed an entire design system to bring consistency across all of Thermobreak’s market regions. It was a refinement of what went before, in preparation for what’s to come. Clear, purposeful language, simple iconography and bold, type-led design architecture positioned Thermobreak once more as the category world leader.
